I Am A Native To Haycock Township. I Lived There For 23 Years On Old School Road. I loved the country feel that my parent provided for me growing up. There are not many places that have this anymore I am glad to see that Haycock still has it and I can believe it always will. There are amazing people to get to know when you live there. I am so lucky for all my friends that I grew up with. We know that by living where we did made us who we are today!
Living in the woods meant you had to create your own fun. Which consists of riding bikes, playing in the woods, the occasional rock and stick fights, & falling in a pond or stream. Using The Phrase "Going into town" is used and town meaning Quakertown. As I got older the bonfire were what we looked forward to. People from school on a Friday night would hangout at the park and we would just go home and sit by the fire with the music blaring.
There are things people need to understand about Haycock. There aren't any gas stations. If you have friends that don't know the area you will need to tell them to make sure they get gas before they come to visit. They also may get lost trying to find your house so they should never come out if they are on empty. There were may of times we used the gas can in the shed to fill up people's cars. There aren't any local police. This area is controlled by state troopers and most of the residents like it this way. If it isn't a big deal you can solve it yourself.
People from Haycock will always stick together. Who knows why it could be the space between neighbors make great neighbors or If you needed to borrow something you know you can.
At the current moment I live in Quakertown in my first home. It the future my dream is to own a beautiful Farmhouse in Haycock.
